EVRAZ ZSMK modernized the pitch granulating machine. Now the product can be packed into special containers which allow expanding distribution channels.

“Granulated pitch is in demand and has high export potential. Thanks to the new package, we will get an access to the international market. The pitch is formed from the coal tar during the coke and by-product process. EVRAZ ZSMK used to deliver granulated pitch in high-sided wagons limited the distribution possibilities. Now the plant uses special safe and environmentally friendly containers for seaport shipping.
The pitch granulating machine was mounted on the coke and by-product factory in 2010. It has capacity of 8 thousand tons per month. Within the framework of modernization, the pitch storage hopper was upgraded; lifting crane and subconveyor for loading containers in high-sided wagons were mounted. The shelter and pitch conveyor winter heating are also provided.
The granulated pitch consumers are facilities of the aluminium industry, hydraulic insulating material manufacturers, electrode pitch coke and fuel briquette manufacturers, road builders.
